Joe Jansen, Founder, Owner and President, Goody Goody Liquor

Joe headshotJoe Jansen is the founder, owner and president of Dallas-based Goody Goody Liquor, a pioneer in the Texas wine, beer and spirits industry.

The first location for the local, family-owned company was a modest 15-by-50 foot store on Greenville Avenue, which opened in 1964. Now celebrating its 50th year under Jansen’s leadership, Goody Goody has 20 stores across Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Longview, with another opening in the Houston-suburb of Copperfield in early April.

Since the company’s founding, Jansen’s business philosophy has remained the same, saying, “We make a profit because we serve the public. We don’t serve the public to make a profit.”

Jansen and his family work hard to ensure each Goody Goody location exemplifies this mantra, placing an emphasis on maintaining large quantities of product, selling that product at a great price, and employing knowledgeable staff members, who are eager to assist customers without using high-pressure sales tactics.
