Tracy Ruckel joined Community Impact in January of 2019 shortly after the launch of the Richardson, TX edition and has helped oversee its ascent to becoming an integral part of the city. 

With a long sales background that includes working with schools, charities and companies, small and large on marketing campaigns and strategies as well as fund raising, Tracy is uniquely positioned to oversee this growth and manage a diverse team of individuals with different skill sets and responsibilities. 

Community Impact News was founded in Pflugerville, TX in 2005 by John and Jennifer Garrett. Since that time, the company has
enjoyed enormous growth that now includes 40 markets total in the Austin, DFW, Houston, and San Antonio metros.

As part of their mission, Community Impact mails their paper monthly to every residence and they report on news that is hyper-local and useful. Most importantly, Community Impact provides needed content in each community that serve, that in many cases, readers cannot find anywhere else. This is achieved by having reporters attend every city council and school board meeting to provide coverage.

J. Micheal Sykes, Co-Founder & CEO, US Aviation Academy

Michael Sykes is the co-founder and CEO of US Aviation Group, DBA US Aviation Academy. US Aviation Academy began in January of 2006 as a three aircraft flight school and one man maintenance shop. Over the last 17 years, US Aviation Academy has grown to become a world recognized leader in professional flight training with a fleet of over 130 aircraft operating from six training bases. US Aviation Academy also operates a FAA approved Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Training Academy.

Micheal received a B.A. degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College in 1985. He joined Continental Business Service / CBS Payroll in August of 1985 as a staff accountant in the Bookkeeping division. During his 17 year tenure Micheal held the positions of Service Representative, Sales Representative, Branch Manager, and starting in 1991 as President and CEO. As CEO, Micheal transformed the business from a family operated single state bookkeeping company to a multi-state employer services firm with over 375 employees. In 2002 Micheal negotiated the sale of CBS Payroll to Intuit, Inc., the makers of Quickbooks, Quicken, and Turbo Tax.

Micheal has flown aircraft for 35 years as a private pilot and has logged over 1800 hours. He holds a private pilot license is commercial & instrument rated and has a multiple engine commercial rating.
