Joel Allison, CEO, Baylor Scott & White Health

Allison-1098 High ResJoel Allison is chief executive officer of Baylor Scott & White Health.  Baylor Scott & White Health was born from the 2013 merger between Dallas-based Baylor Health Care System and Temple-based Scott & White Health.  It is today the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas with 42 hospitals and more than 800 access points.

Joel’s career includes more than four decades in health care management.  He joined Baylor Health Care System in 1993 and served as Baylor’s senior executive vice president and chief operating officer before being promoted to president and CEO in 2000.

He received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and religion at Baylor University in 1970 and attended Trinity University’s health care administration program where he earned a master’s degree in 1973.  He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, and in 2004 he received an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Dallas Baptist University.

This year, Modern Healthcare magazine ranked him the 35th most influential person in healthcare in America.

Megan Toole, CEO & Krista LaMothe, Vice President,  Skimpy Cocktails

Megan Low ResKrista Low ResMegan Toole is the co-founder and CEO while  Krista LaMothe is also a co-founder and Vice President of Skimpy Cocktails.  The Skimpy Mixers low-calorie, low-sugar product line can be found in more than 1,300 Walmart stores in 48 states, in 120 H-E-B grocery stores throughout South Texas, and in hundreds of grocery and liquor stores, restaurants and bars nationwide.

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University, Megan worked in sales at CPI Office Products in Dallas, where she averaged $1.2 million in sales at a 30-percent margin.

Megan started her own Farmers Insurance agency in 2004. She now manages eight staff members, more than 4,000 clients and over $5 million in gross written premiums which puts her in the top one percent of Farmers agents nationwide.

After moving from Illinois, Krista graduated from the University of North Texas with a Marketing degree and was hired in 2010 by Megan to work at Farmer’s Insurance.

James K. Pool III, President, TurboChef Technologies

James K Pool III HeadshotJames K. Pool, III has been the President of TurboChef Technologies, Inc. in Carrollton, a division of the Middleby Corp., since 2011. James is instrumental in pioneering ventless products for the kitchen, including the world’s first ventless conveyor.
